A streamlined, intuitive experience
that enables quick understanding

Challenge

Designing for a fast-paced bidding environment with high-stakes, time-sensitive decisions

Helping users act on incomplete and constantly changing supply data

Accounting for a system where outcomes depend on both user behaviour and inventory availability

Approach

Reframing the dashboard as a decision-making tool rather than a static reporting interface

Prioritizing key metrics to communicate status, risk, and opportunity at a glance

Layering data visualizations to support both quick scanning and deeper analysis

Impact

Enabling dealers to quickly understand their performance and position in the bidding process

Supporting faster, more confident decision-making in a dynamic environment

Reducing manual effort through automation and clearer system feedback

About the Project

About the Project

The product serves a very specific and high-stakes workflow: enabling dealers to bid on pre-owned electronics in a dynamic marketplace where supply is uncertain and timing is critical. Every interaction is tied to business performance. A missed signal can mean losing inventory. The dashboard, therefore, is not just informational, it is operational.

Key metrics such as bids in first place, bids within the winning range, and those outside the range are surfaced instantly. These are not just numbers, they represent position, risk, and opportunity.

Unlike traditional bidding platforms, success here is not solely determined by strategy but also by availability. The automatic fulfillment mechanism, triggered when bids enter the winning range, introduces a mechanism that reduces manual intervention. However, it also introduces dependency. Inventory is not guaranteed; it is accumulated over time through user-generated supply.

The design emerged from ongoing product discovery and close collaboration with stakeholders. Rather than assuming user needs, the process focused on uncovering them, understanding how dealers think, what pressures they operate under, and where inefficiencies exist in their workflow.
