Leading the design from concept
to MVP in a few months
Challenge
The product was built around a matching system with evolving and partially undefined requirements.
The core challenge was not just designing interfaces, but translating ambiguous business goals into a usable and scalable product experience across multiple platforms.
Approach
I focused on reducing complexity in a system with multiple variables and decision points.
Early iterations prioritized clarity and usability over completeness, allowing the team to move quickly and validate direction through an MVP.
Impact
The initial direction was closer to a modernized version of a legacy system: very data-heavy, but not always focused on user value.
After shipping the MVP, I independently revisited the product to explore a more refined version of the experience, focusing on clarity, scalability, and improved interaction design.

About the Project
TJ Sales is a SaaS platform for staffing agencies, available across mobile and web, that centralizes sales operations and workforce management. It allows teams to manage unfilled job positions and temporary workers while providing real-time visibility into customers, orders, and operational activity in a unified workspace.
Role
Lead Product Designer
TEAM
Product Manager VP of Digital Product Innovation Manager
Duration
12 month contract
Strategy
Create wireframes and a scalable design system
User’s perspective
MVP showcasing the main functionalities
Business value
Concept refinement that enhance navigation, structure and visuals
I led the end-to-end design of the product across mobile and web, taking it from ambiguous requirements to a shipped MVP. The core challenge was translating unclear business needs into a structured product with coherent user flows, scalable information architecture, and clear decision paths for users working with complex data. My approach combined analytical problem-solving with creative exploration. I focused on reducing cognitive load in a dense system by defining hierarchy, simplifying workflows, and designing interfaces that made decision-making more intuitive while still meeting technical and business constraints. After shipping the MVP, I revisited the product independently to explore a more refined and visually mature direction. This phase allowed me to push the design further, experimenting with stronger hierarchy, clearer interaction patterns, and more scalable UI structures, with a focus on improving both usability and visual clarity. This combination of shipped execution and post-MVP exploration reflects my approach: grounding creative design decisions in analytical structure, while continuously refining the experience beyond functional requirements.

System / Scalability / Collaboration
Scaled and maintained a consistent design system in Figma while working closely with engineers to support continuous product development. As new features were introduced, I ensured design consistency across the product by evolving reusable components and patterns. Using Auto Layout, components, variants, and shared styles (colors, typography, spacing), I built a flexible system that improved efficiency, streamlined collaboration, and allowed the design system to scale alongside the product.

Key Takeaways / MVP
1. Designing for ambiguity requires strong structure before visual polish 2. Speed and clarity are critical in early-stage SaaS products 3. The best solutions emerge through tight collaboration between design, product, and engineering constraints 4. Post-MVP iteration is essential for evolving from functional to high-quality product experiences

Wireframes / User Flows
I developed wireframes and mapped end-to-end user flows to define core functionality, while also accounting for critical edge cases to ensure a seamless and reliable experience. These flows helped establish a clear product structure early on and served as a foundation for both design and development. I anticipated how the product would evolve beyond the MVP, guiding decisions that supported modularity and reuse. This reduced the need for rework as new features and workflows were introduced. Interaction patterns were carefully designed around sales workflows and real-world usage scenarios, ensuring the experience felt intuitive, efficient, and aligned with how users actually operate in their day-to-day processes.
